Post SXSW – Cults

March 23, 2011 § Leave a comment

A problem with a lot of groups today is that they aren’t very good live and this was the case with Cults. In the studio these guys steal your heart, but like so many other young indie-pop bands of today, they haven’t put in the work and the struggle of touring for years like seasoned veterans. Adding that to the electronic issues of in the studio vs. live will sometimes leave you in disappointment. But nonetheless, I was glad to see them and am anxious about their debut album coming in May. Check out their breakout single from last year.

Generationals Trust EP

Good ‘Ol Indie Pop
Generationals, indie pop group from Rexburg, ID just released a new EP called Trust.  There’s a pretty grainy home-made looking video to go along with the title track too.  With the EP, you won’t get any surprises in musicianship or lyrical content, but they seem to have perfectly captured that low-fi sound that is running rampant in the scene nowadays.

Visit here to listen to the whole EP, and purchase it if you so desire.
